          My internship day went  nice and enjoyable, because my mentor Mrs. Arati Desai  was very helpful and encouraging personality. She helps to how to do work it is, how to communicate with users, and she teach how to help users orientation to users demo of orientation for us.  she also give practical knowledge of the orientation work for visitors.

BOOK DISCUSSION

On 26th Feb 2014 in Nehru Centre Library organized Book Discussion Program. The Book discussion on “The shadow of the crescent moon”, author is Fatima Bhutto.  This book discussion has guest speaker Mansiha Tikekar, Sagar Gangurde, and Hafiza Golandaj. Firstly, there was introduction of guest by Ms.Ananya Banerjee. 


After the introduction, Mrs. Manisha Tikekar, Sagar Gangurde and Hafiza Golandaj share views on books. It has a story of three brothers and two women. They fought for their freedom with Taliban’s. It also has impact of shiyas and sunnies conflict, 9/11 terror attack. The story revolves around father Inayat who has three boys. Author gives all information related to Pakistan’s political and also national situation. After that, Sagar Gangurde shares their experience of working with Afghanistan students. Then, Hafiza Golandaj discuss full of flashback of book. 
The book discussion is help to we because we understood how to organised book discussion in library.


The Shadow of the Crescent Moon chronicles the lives of five young people trying to live and love in a world on fire. Individuals are pushed to make terrible choices. And, as the events of this single morning unfold, one women is at the centre of it all.

FIRST DAY OF INTERNSHIP

On the 1st week of 3rd February 2014, Me with colleague Ilita started internship at the Nehru Centre Library, Worli. In Nehru Centre Library Mrs. Arati Desai is Librarian & Documentation Officer and our mentor. I am so excited to when we will going in library, because this library is so amazing, wonderful, large, attractive, and innovative...! 

We entered in library, this library has given a very beautiful atmosphere and innovative architecture. It is look like my dream library.  This library is a reference public library.The 124th anniversary of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, the newly revamped  Nehru Centre Library was inaugurated on 14 November 2014. The new library is located on the first floor of Discovery of India Building.  The library has about 25,000 books on various disciplines such as History, Religion, Philosophy, Social Sciences, Arts, Architecture, Literature, Geographies and Biographies. It has  valuable and rare collection on Jawahrlal Nehru.  Library is proud to hold hundreds of books, letters written by Jawaharlal Nehru.  Besides this, the library subscribes to about 25 International and 50 National periodicals. 

Nehru Centre has understood the changing profile of libraries. Thus a Cyber Centre and Audio Visual services have been introduced as a part of library services.This library was shifted in November 2013. First we meet Mrs. Arati Desai , she was gave small introduction of Nehru Centre Library.
Library has five professional following are they:
  • Librarian cum Documentation Officer - Mrs. Arati Desai
  • Senior Assistant - Ganpat Trimbak Rane, 
  • Steno typist - Mrs. Smita Ogale, 
  • Technical Assistant (Database) - Pradeep Shivaji Huvale 
  •  Library Attendant - Nitesh R. Bhalekar. 


The library staff is efficient, cooperative, and helpful. As per allotted plan she gave some library related work.We were understood this library, then start working in library. There is no place for had a lunch. In ground floor has Cafeteria, but they was not allowed to eat out side food, that time we faced difficulties, we had our lunch  beside the Cafeteria, After lunch time we came in library and continue the work. We were meet madam for we were completed task, then she told when we completed task we are leave it.
